L’esprit de Provence - Red

Our Esprit de Provence red is a worthy ambassador of reds from Provence with its rich aromatic palate. Its dark colour and mouth-feel commands the respect of a serious wine yet its supple body and exuberance makes it a most convivial wine with Provencal flair.

2014 is an unusual vintage. After a relatively mild autumn, the spring was colder than usual, and disturbed by an episode of hail which slowed the maturation process, while allowing an expressive vintage. It is characterized by a nice refined and aromatic wines.

80% Syrah, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon

Hand and mechanically harvested at 40hl per ha.

15 day maceration with regular pump-overs et and temperature control at 28-30°C. Malolactic fermentation in vat.

Matured in vat; after clarification the wines are blended and bottled after a light filtration.

An intense ruby and slyghtly garnet red. The nose is intense and complex combining notes of dark fruit, green olive, earth and stewed blackberry. The mouth is first round and supple. Sweet spicy aromas accompany the integrated and quality tannins very harmoniously. Dark fruit tones and hints of white pepper and dark berries compliment the delightful body. This 2014 is both generous and refined. Decant before enjoying.

Rib of beef in crust of salt, braised lamb, dishes based on mushroom, ragout of tomatoes.

Eye: intense black cherry. Nose: concentrated, graphite, undergrowth, blackcurrant, ripe red fruits, notes of pepper, menthol note, finesse. Palate: frank attack, amplitude and power with a nice plot of tight and solid tannins. Conclusion: a wine of high potential, built around Cabernet Sauvignon and which must absolutely wait; For the game. **** A very good success.

Œil : cerise noire intense. Nez : concentré, graphite, sous-bois, cassis, fruits rouges mûrs, nuance poivron, note mentholée, finesse. Bouche : attaque franche, amplitude et puissance avec une belle trame de tanins serrés et fermes. Conclusion : un vin de fort potentiel, construit autour du Cabernet sauvignon et qu’il faut absolument attendre; pour le gibier.

Beau millésime dans les vignobles méridionaux, 2007 affiche encore une vigueur et une ampleur de bouche de très belle intensité. Ce vin est complet, associant la séduction de la syrah à la structure du cabernet sauvignon. A boire sur deux ou trois ans. 16/20
